THE ELECTRO-ACUSCOPE / MYOPULSE THERAPY SYSTEM EQUINE AND CANINE THERAPY

Over the last decade, the Acuscope/Myopulse System has been used extensively in the treatment of both large and small animals. It has been very successfully applied to a wide range of neuro-muscular conditions commonly affecting animal athletes, participating in every area of competition:

  • Racing (All Breeds)

  • Harness and Barrel Racing

  • Roping, Cutting and Reining

  • Dressage and Show Horses

  • Jumping and Cross Country

  • Polo and Endurance

  • Sled Dog Racing (endurance and sprint)

  • Field Trial Dogs

  • Agility Dogs

  • Show Dogs

  • Weight Pull Dogs

  •  Fly Ball Dogs

In each of these fields injuries frequently occur. Injury can result in an inability to perform competitively. Acute conditions often become chronic problems if not handled immediately. Without proper treatment seemingly minor problems may become seriously complicated. The following are some of the most common conditions which have been treated successfully with the Acuscope/Myopulse System, and well documented by veterinarians and animal therapists for over twenty years:

  • joint inflammation

  • bowed tendons

  • ligaments problems

  • body soreness

  • bruising

  • muscle spasms

  • surgical scars

  • ring bone

  • lick granuloma

  • epilepsy

  • hyperactivity

  • old age syndrome

  • osteochronditis

  • rhinitis-allergic

  • rotator cuff injury

Remarkable results have been obtained in the treatment of other conditions thought to be life threatening or crippling. Here are some examples:

  • laminitis

  • wobblers syndrome

  • disc disease (IDD)

  • spinal damage

  • navicular syndrome

The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse are FDA approved instruments created originally for use on humans. This system has been used in physical therapy clinics, doctor's offices, and hospitals around the country since the mid 1970's. Some of the athletic teams who have used the Acuscope/Myopulse System include: San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland A's, San Francisco Giants, US Water Ski Team, Utah Jazz, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the LA Rams.

Acuscope/Myopulse Therapy compliments traditional veterinary procedures to ensure a quicker recovery for the animal. There is a steadily increasing number of people who have been trained by qualified instructors to use these instruments on animals. After participating in an extensive training program one can become a Certified Animal Acuscope/Myopulse Therapist. We feel this information is very important and should be shared with the "animal" public. Additional reading materials are available. We hope you find this form of therapy as interesting and beneficial as we do.
